OVERVIEW
The Main North Road Windbreaks are a series of established highly treed reserves within the City of Playford. Initially installed as windbreaks for the new dwellings and businesses located within this area of the Adelaide Plains, the area is now somewhat under utilised and there are opportunities for a more resourceful use of the area. Arborman Tree Solutions was engaged to identify and assess the trees in relation to their contribution, condition and suitability for retention in their current setting and any potential reuse of the landscape. Having undertaken the field work a Tree Management Report has been produced for each reserve.
APPROACH
Arborman utilised Trimble technology and GIS software to collect tree data and map the trees identified within the project footprint. Once assessed this data was reviewed to identify legislative requirements, tree retention values and provide appropriate management options.
RESULTS
Reports were produced for each Windbreak Reserve including information on tree condition, root zone management, retention suitability and recommended management.
